The book inventory of the library of the university for television and film Munich approx. 60,000 books and magazines, starting from feature year 1992 are completely registered the books in on-line catalog of the Bavarian library group (BVB) enclosure. The film existence covers at present approx. 5,000 features on video and 2,200 DVDs.
One of the collecting emphasis of the library/Mediathek of the academy of art for media (KHM) in Cologne is television and film, i.e. film history and - theory, dramaturgy, film script, Szeni dissolution and assembly, play art, direction, production customer, film industry, film art, documentary forms.
The library federal archives is predominant a technical library with more than 15,000 volumes, to the film. Collecting emphasis is the German film history from the beginnings to the present. Into the library the existence of national film archives of the GDR to 1990 are integrated. In the OPAC approx. 8,000 titles and standard data records are opened. New acquisitions and previous stock levels are constantly supplemented. Film-referred acquisitions federal file copy archives to 1991 are proven in the OPAC of the library in Koblenz. Six registers stand to the selection, in which (also as combined search) can be investigated: the person register, the register of the organizations, the title register, the pass, the table of contents and key word register, the publishing house register, the register of the signatures as well as ISBN and ISSN.
The Hochschulbibliothek/Mediathek, a central mechanism of the HFF Potsdam-Babelsberg, consists of a system of 4 departments: Book department/special information, press documentation, Videothek and film archives. Under “digital library film” are to reference to data bases, electronic magazines as well as an extensive, very well structured link collection. All media of the Hochschulbibliothek/Mediathek are proven in on-line catalog and in the compound catalog film. There is here also an offer for digital publishing (E-texts).
The special assembly area of the university library Frankfurt covers the ranges “theater science” and “film”. In the course of the general establishment of special assembly areas by the DFG in the fifties the two special assembly areas 9,3 “theater science” and 9,4 “film, radio, television” were justified. It existed in this form up to the end of the yearly 1997.
Starting from 1998 the parts of “radio” and “television” were transferred to the new special assembly area 3,5 “publication and medium sciences, journalism” of the university library Leipzig. The part “film” remaining with the city and university library Frankfurt/Main was folded up with the special assembly area 9,3. The special assembly area designation 9,4 was void. Accordingly the literature of the delivered parts was acquired only to at the end of of 1997 by the university library Frankfurt/Main. Starting from 1998 the acquisition takes place via the university library Leipzig.
Of 9,3 existence acquired by the university library Frankfurt/Main for the special assembly area are in the general catalogs of the library registered. The magazines are completely in on-line catalog PRACTICE Frankfurt and in the magazine data base (ZDB) proven.
To the special assembly area “radio” and television” of the university library Leipzig belong also: New media, medium economics, - politics, - ethics, as well as history and theory of the media. The Sammelauftrag covers the foreign literature, like encyclopedias, bibliographies, introductions, research literature, important magazines among other things of PRACTICES Leipzig for the special assembly area of acquired existence is registered in the general catalogs of the library. The magazines are completely in the data base information system (DBIS) and in the magazine data base (ZDB) proven.
